Cake Decorating

Sugarpaste cracking?

Hi everyone.
I’ve made a lovely Cadburys purple color icing but I’m worried it might crack when I cover the cake as I’ve obviously added a lot of colour. I think I’ve read somewhere about adding glycerine? Has anybody got any recommendations? How much to add? Does it work? Any alternatives?
