FAO Sarah’s Cakes,
Sarah, think this is the easiest way to share the images with you.
The structure itself was made out of wood and then covered with the foil paper you use on cake boards. To support the open end, I used a metal rod and then covered the part that was in the cake with a hollow dowel. The bit hanging down was polystyrene.
The cake was a somewhat dense mud cake, covered with ganache.
To cover it, it was panelled with fondant. If you’ve got any more questions, comment below and I’ll do my best to help.
