My first ever peony (!!!) which I made using the tutorial provided by the amazing Jo of Ciccio Cakes, as a guide. Mine is not as pretty as hers but I was still fairly stoked with the results. Without her tutorial and pics, I’m sure it would not have even looked half as good as it turned out. Next time I will be using gumpaste though as my petals did not frill the way I wanted but this was just for practice and so I used leftover fondant lol.
There are also a couple of progress shots – 1st one is after 3 sizes of petals (before applying the last two rows) and the 2nd is before I pearlized it. I added the pearl finish just to liven it up a bit as mine did not have the movement or character that I would have liked.
Thanks so much to Jo for her wonderful tutorial which you can see here: http://cakesdecor.com/Ciccio/blog/690.
Oh and I used heart cutters as she suggested, except for the largest petal since the set I got only had up to the medium size. So I used a foot cutter instead which worked out just as well lol.
