I REALLY enjoyed decorating this cake, I love doing something different and this one’s very ‘arty’.

Sarah’s Dad’s into Egyptology so he likes anything to do with ancient Egypt, and he also like works by the surrealist artist Salvador Dali.
So we put our heads together and came up with this.
I love the melted clock and I’m really pleased with how the Eye of Horus and the Butterfly apple turned out which I hand painted.
The Pyramid with the Sphinx is made from Marzipan covered in fondant.
The knife is made from flower paste.

The cake is my rich fruit cake recipe that I make for Christmas laced with sherry.
