I love all the challenging ideas my client’s give me and this one was certainly one of “those” challenges by not just a client but a wonderful friend all the way across the sea in Thailand. Her friend, Jax, celebrates her 34th birthday today and she absolutely loves pineapples so…..the cake had to be in the shape of a pineapple. I tried following some You Tube tutorials but they didn’t work so I devised my own plan – “Plan B”. Have to say, I was quite pleased with the finish and thank goodness I had a small pentagon shaped cutter, and I can now happily say I’ve done a Pineapple Cake, Minecraft Cake (yes my same friend got me to me make my first ever Minecraft cake 2 years ago), sitting up Minion Cake, Pirate Cake and many other challenging shaped cakes. I also added 6 pineapple infused cupcakes to the order as a gift from me – thought Jax would enjoy these too! (Oh and the chicken? That’s because my friend Janine always calls Jax “chicken” – just in case you wondering:-))
