Happy 1st Transplantaversary to Dave who a year ago this month was blessed with the opportunity to have a life saving double lung transplant. It was touch and go whether he would survive the very stressful process, but amazingly he got through it with his own determination and his family’s love and support.

Dave’s wife Tania wanted a fun cake to celebrate the 1 year milestone, choosing more of a character lung design than a realistic version. Dave is also a drummer and asked that this be incorporated in the cake design. The aim was to have the lungs playing the drum but unfortunately due to time constraints the arms did not dry hard enough to hold the sticks sufficiently without falling off or breaking. So instead the drum sits at one side. Tania, Dave and the family were thrilled with the cake which made me so happy and honoured I contributed to such an amazing celebration.
