CPC Christmas Collaboration Cake
I have been wanting to join a collaboration for a while, so this one seemed like a perfect start this is my first one! I didn’t have a lot of time to work on this one because I joined in pretty late, so I decided to make this cake more about the figurines rather than a super elaborate cake. (I am sure it will be wildly out-shined by all the other amazing creations haha!) I had an igloo that I had made last year lying around, so I knew I wanted to use it, and I had recently been experimenting with wafer paper birch bark, so I knew I wanted to use that technique for the logs of the fire. It was also a good opportunity to use some special effects- a flickering LED candle light for the bonfire. I don’t do a lot of people modeling, so I wanted to make some cute Eskimos in a variety of different positions. And I wanted to include a couple Christmas snails because, well, they’re adorable
From there, I thought it would be cute to make a penguin building a snowman and a seal on an iceberg. The water is fondant, painted with alcohol and gel food color, with piping gel spread over the top and textured with an offset spatula. I’m super stoked to do more collabs in the future, especially because I will have more time to work on the design and the cake itself.
