"Alankrit" The Ornate Beauty- DIY Magazine Feature

I was fortunate enough to be invited to submit a creation among many other amazing cake arists to The DIY Wedding Magazine, USA for their 5th Anniversary which is celebrated in their 22nd Issue, this December. And believe me, It’s Huge! Thank you so much Candace.
Our theme was “Wedding Cakes from Around the World” and I had to represent our very own “India”
My Creation is named “Alankrit”- The Ornate Beauty
Inspiration Behind The Design:
Being a South Indian, this design has drawn strong influence from the South Indian culture. From the richness of Kancheepuram Silk Sarees to Ornate gold guild Peacocks to the Sacred Lotus and Ylang Ylang flowers all considered as flowers used during worship at the Hindu temples. The bold colours Deep Fuchsia and Purple used complete the look of the vivid colours in India.
