This cake was inspired by the children’s classic, ‘Wind in the Willows’. Mr Toad was sculpted from modelling chocolate around an RKT egg-shape and clothed in sugarpaste, which was then dusted to add depth and character. He is holding his driving gloves and the steering wheel from his recently crashed motor car! The cake was decorated with a riverbank theme, in keeping with the story, and was airbrushed and hand painted before the bulrushes were added.
I made him in celebration of my father’s 70th Birthday, so poured quite a lot of love into it and I admit it was hard to let him go!
I hope you like him. Thank you for looking :) x
