My granddaughter Amelia turned 7 in May and asked for this hat for her cake. As a little extra for her, I added the little cup and saucer with ‘Earl Grey’ hiding inside it.

The badge is fondant with piped royal icing design. I had a slight hiccup after painting the ‘tumbling’ lettering on the badge where it smudged but I didn’t have time to fix it. Not that Amelia minded in the slightest.

The wired flowers are cold porcelain. The other decorations and flowers are all gumpaste.

Gluten Free Chocolate fudge cake. A firm family favourite!
