What else would one present the charismatic leader of one of the biggest textile groups in Kerala on her birthday ? Ms. Beena Kannan has been at the helm of Seematti group which has been adorning Kerala in the finest of silken threads.
An unforgettable family holiday to Portugal which had left a deep impression among the family and the ethereal palace they visited, Pena National Palace in Sintra gave Gautham her son and Viki her daughter-in-law the idea for the cake.

I must have been half asleep when I accepted the offer – the magnitude of the task at hand did not filter through till I googled the beautiful Palace!!! There was stunned silence at Cake Canvas household as we sat in front of the 17 inch Laptop screen in absolute awe and utter fear. Austin was sure that I will be able to pull this off but I did sneak behind him to call up Viki and tried to change their mind. God bless them and their adamant nature, the end result was one of the heaviest, grandest and most elaborately researched cakes from the studio. According to our neighbour uncle, it resembled an architect’s model rather than a cake.

Icing on the cake was a late night call from the lady herself, bubbling over with joy and appreciation for the hard work. As my husband surmised, a true artist will understand the hard work that will go into a creation so intricate and Ms. Beena Kannan, the business woman with the heart of an artist definitely will.
