I was asked to make a Pirate theme cake, anything to do with Pirates for 3 year old Jacob. I made the Pirate out of modelling paste, hand painting the stripes on his t-shirt. The treasure map was also hand painted onto flowerpaste which was torn and dusted with petal dusts to give the aged effect. The gold coins were cut using the smallest circle cutter I have and I used a few little gold dragees too I created the waves with a frill cutter and then boned and frilled the edges to give the effect of the waves, it wasn’t quite how I had imagined it to look but I think it looks like the sea. I then used some little shell moulds to finish off with crushed vanilla biscuits for the sand.
