Sports shoe modelled on a Nike SB model trainer and the box it comes in, following a request from a lovely customer whose brother was celebrating his 21st birthday. She sent me a picture of the original shoe her brother had sitting on top of the shoe box. I had 3 nights of about 10 hours to bake, carve and decorate this ready for delivery early Saturday morning. The shoe proved to be quite the challenge to get the right shape but with some input from my husband I managed to get the right volume on the front and back sides of the shoe. I have never made a carved shoe cake so it was all new for me and I had to work out how to get the right textures and finish without the use of a tutorial due mainly to lack of time. I added a fondant sole and textured it so it would look and feel like a real sneaker and could be picked up by the birthday boy if he had the urge to!

Hope you like it, I know this type of cake has been done before so it’s nothing new but I am proud to say I finally gave it a go :)
