Palm Springs love – when I knew that was the theme to a wedding fair, I was eager to experiment with an idea on a cake, and in a matter of days, I knew I had to get on to the pineapple craze (If someone could tell me the significance, that will be grand. Thank you!).
After a few Pinterest searches, I decided what better way to represent wedding and love in Palm Springs fashion than to have two love-flamingos posed in a shape of a silhouette heart. I loved the art of watercolour painting which happens to be all the rage for wedding cakes, and I channeled my inner Van Gogh (excuse the pun) for this piece.
Both tiers were painted using petal dusts, and I love how it’s such a soft look but looks absolutely stunning. I also had to make the pineapple leaves, yes – wafer paper leaves work a treat for a softer look on this cake!
