I wanted a slightly darker themed superhero cake this time, instead of really bright one I usually do. I airbrushed each tier trying to get the changing darkness in the blue for the night sky and airbrushing blue onto the red for the top tier. I hand painted on the web in black initially, first time putting brush to cake for me, after attending a class by Liz from Time for Tifin last week. I then painted over the black web with a pearlescent white which created the silver effect. I made the additional loose white web from cake lace as an experiment and it worked really well, I just piped it very thinly. Loved experimenting on this cake.
