This is possibly one of my favorite cakes! A surprise 60th birthday cake for a woman that loves wine and visiting the wineries on our East End here on Long Island.

This cake stood about 24 inches tall. The inside was separate in three sections of cake boards in between so that the weight wouldn’t make the cake collapse.

I paneled the fondant vertically and then I used petal dust in two shades to achieve the wood barrel look and the logo. The wine bottle is the exact size of a normal wine bottle which I made from using three different colors of isomalt to give it the appearance of being filled with wine.
