For this cake I took inspiration from several Turtle cakes out there. There is only a certain amount you can do with a Turtles coming out of a sewer cake. I did a bit more shading than I normally do with my cakes and I was quite pleased with the result. Unfortunately the grey I used (Rainbow Dust) started to turn green and the scrap I had left over is now completely green! I used black for the sewer lid and that stayed grey so I think I will stick to that. They do have shells on their back which took me about an hour to make and you can’t even see them, but they ae there. The picture of just the fingers was just a bit of a joke I’m not sure I could have got away with just that on the cake. Apparently the boys face on seeing his cake looked how it did on Christmas Day! So I was chuffed and I also got an extra £5 for it which is always good :) x

Wow Elizabeth, it looks amazing! I love the expressions on your turtles faces, and they all have their correct weapons. Very important to little boys! Lol! What a shame, after all that work, that you can’t see the turtles shells in the back.
