This was an epic learning curve for me, first time entering a Salon Culinaire show and the first time ever using pastillage.
And boy does that stuff dry FAST!!! I first tried using a mix that you just add water to but could not get on with that at all so I made my own which worked out so much better.
Although I had to get me skates on as the mistakes and failed attempts used up very precious time. At one point I didn’t think I would get this finished!
But I am so glad I did with the help of some cheering on by my cakey friends.
So pleased to have walked away with a Gold award and the award for best in class!
My first ever shiny medal and silver edged plate!!
I hope you love it as much as I do
