This was my (Adela) first entry to Birmingham Cake International, and this piece also survived relatively unharmed the long journey by land and sea going through some of the worst weather at sea. The stress of the previous months of working, creating, running a school and a family was beginning to show and when finally the piece was on the table, I was able to relax – but only a tad!
