Helicopter Cake

This was another first for CakeyCake and it was quite a challenge, but oh how we love a challenge! Sculpted from layered vanilla sponge around a custom built internal structure that supported both the top rotor blades and the tail, this enormous helicopter cake was 24 inches long and 12 inches tall. It was decorated to look like the Birthday boy’s favourite character from a popular film ;) Happy Birthday Andrew!

This cake was a massive hit with everyone who saw it – we had complete strangers stopping us so they could ask us about it! And the birthday boy hasn’t stopped talking about it yet :)
