Emil is giving his partner, Michael, a car for his birthday (lucky guy). Cars aren’t really my thing, but Emil wanted a theme loosely based around the Citroen car. As Emil works for Citroen, and the car is French, I decided to go with the Paris theme. Apologies for so many photos, but the theme goes all around the cake.
I am a big Francophile, managing to include many French cliches in here; hollyhocks from my beloved Ile de Re, my favourite French bulldog, patisserie, cafe and better sugar paste macaron than I could ever bake (up to my sixth epic fail attempt). Michael’s surprise is hiding around the corner from the cafe. Aaaah wish I was sipping a coffee with a croissant at a Parisian cafe right now.
