Since fondant & I are not on speaking terms after the fiasco with my birthday cake, I decided not to cover this cake in fondant but simply use my Marvelous Mold onlay. This was my first wafer paper flower. Although it is much quicker than gumpaste flowers, I prefer gumpaste. Will surprise the birthday “girl” later on today with this guava cake with guava filling & vanilla cooked frosting. Update: I am pleased to report that the birthday girl did like her cake and I actually got to taste this one. Very tasty. Love trying new flavors all the time.
