I made this luggage cake for my father in law who celebrated his 80th birthday cake recently.
He loves traveling and been almost all over the world. In the last couple of years he mostly travels short distances to Europe.
He truly loved this cake and was so happy with all the details. The bag is designed like his own.. I had seen it just once before… so relied on my memory and I actually made the scarf ,shirt and shocks that were like his..
One thing I realized about myself when making this cake is … I find it very difficult to make old rustic looks.. I like clean and neat and new so making this not so perfect.. with uneven sides, and old gold effect the dirty shadows on the edges.. were honestly so difficult to make..
Though I was happy was the shine I got on the leather look.
