My daughter loves puppies and cupcakes! For her birthday this past weekend I begged her to let me make a 3D dog cake after watching a Craftsy class by Elisa Strauss. She insisted on having a puppy jumping out of a cupcake! We worked together to be sure she had all the details she wanted. One of her requests was to be able to keep a portion of her cake, so I carved the cupcake from cake dummies. I loved the more rounded top style of Royal Bakery’s giant cupcakes and she agreed! The drippy icing and cherries were inspired by Andrea’s Sweetcakes. We finally agreed on a design! She was so happy with her cake that she burst into tears, assuring me they were “happy tears”.
