Sometimes we plan for “the perfect day” with joy and excitement in our hearts. We are on the road to absolute happiness. As on a sunny summer day suddenly a terrible storm will strike and the torrential downpour seems to nearly drown us. In an instant our joy is drained then filled with grief. Our love is changed to longing. We just cannot understand how or why. There are things we will never know on this side of heaven but we do know this… The storms always pass, the drowning rains of sorrow recede, and the sun of our joy always returns even bigger and brighter than before. And once in awhile in the midst of the storm we celebrate with hope for the sunshine to come.
