I did this cake for a lady’s mom – it was fairly last minute so the canary is an edible print backed onto flowerpaste. My thinking was I could RI over the feathers of the bird to make it look more 3D but it turned into a mess (more practise required). When client came to collect she informed me the cake was for her DAD!! I was mortified that I had made it all prettified for a man. But she said he absolutely loved it! There were even tears x
