It was my middle son Jakes 12th birthday last week! Hes really into pokemon at the moment and was very specific about what he wanted his cake to be.
The main cake is Lotad, with Mantyke on the board, Abomasnow, Chatot, Munchlax and Carracosta on top of the lilly pad. I had to do my research cos I didnt know any of these pokemon at first.
He was also very particular about his cake flavour. It was vanilla almond white sponge, with white choc ganache filling. Covered in marzipan (because he doesnt like fondant, like his dad!) And all the models and lilly pad were modelling chocolate (home made). Had great fun working with modelling choc, the lilly pad set really hard so I was well chuffed. Next time I will get some gloves cos there are a few finger prints on the models.
The board i covered in ice blue royal icing, with white for the waves. Anyway, hope you like! :)
