THE most special moment I have experienced as a Cake Maker….watching my beloved Godmother and Godfather cut the cake I made for them in Australia and transported to New Zealand!!

The cake traveled by 2 planes and 3 cars 3161kms to my wonderful Aunty and Uncles 50th Wedding Anniversary/Renewal of Vows ceremony in New Zealand. To say I was shattered but SO relieved it got there okay is an understatement!

I chose this style so that if the worst happened and the cake slipped or got damaged in transit, the stenciling would hide it…hopefully ;) Luckily, there was no damage :)

I took the cake over in 3 separate boxes with the sugar peonies wrapped in cling wrap in the top tier box. I stacked the cake in a motel room on a 60cm wide bench at 3am in the morning…I was VERY relieved when I opened my eyes in the morning and saw that it was straight and looked okay haha!!

I had an incredible 3 days and can’t speak highly enough of all the fantastic Virgin Australia crew! Thank you for making the 7 hour expedition much easier than I had imagined!

To my huge family in NZ…thank you for being the sensational, loving bunch of incredible human beings you are…I’m so blessed to have you all in my life and to my beautiful family here is Australia…especially my Girls, thank you so much for letting me take off at the most special time of the year xxx
