Here’s a little tutorial about how to make these flower cupcakes.
1. Start with some mini marshmallows.
2. Each mini marshmallow needs to be cut diagonal. You’ll need somewhere around 25 to 30 marshmallows per flower. You can always make more if needed.
3. Put your half marshmallows in a bowl of coloured sugar and give it a good shake.
4. The sugar will stick on the side that’s cut open.
5. Get your cupcakes.
6. Cover your cupcake with icing or glaze (powdered sugar mixed with a few drops of water). The icing should be thick enough to stay on the cupcake instead of running off.
7. Press your marshmallow petals in the icing, starting at the edge of the cupcake. Once you’ve finished the first row, start with the second one. Those petals should be a little more upright.
8. Continue adding petals until your whole cupcake is covered. I’ve used a different amount of petals for each cupcake, so you might need to make some extra.
9. Now it should look like this. Remember that the perfect thing about flowers is that none are the same! So they don’t have to be perfect to look great . :)
Please let me know if something isn’t clear to you. I would love to see pictures if you’re going to try it yourself!
Have fun! :D
