hi, Christina.
Have just joined cakelosophy and watched your dahlia tutorial. I’ve pretty much got the hang of the centre but having a few snags with the petals. Did you use a cutter from an orchid set….I have one of those and it looks pretty similar. What I haven’t got is the silicone veiner you used to shape the petals or anything similar…..what is it exactly??? I’m using gumpaste at the minute as I haven’t had time to get to grips with cp.
Thanks for your tutorials….I love your informal and humourous approach to making flowers in gp and cp and look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Graham.

Graham, when it comes to Dahlias ( and many other flowers) cutter is secondary and veiner makes all the difference if you have a particular look in mind. This Dahlia veiner is by ‘Simply Nature’ ( .sugardelites.com ) They are at Cake International this year and , also, I might be doing a Dahlia demo there, too, on the first day. If you happen to be planning a visit and it’s on interest to you, keep an eye on my fb page, I’ll be sending an update there in this ref. https://www.facebook.com/Cakelosophy/?pnref=lhc

Christina Wallis

Christina….thankyou for taking time out to answer my questions on dahlia veiners.
I will be going to Cake International but can’t make it until the last day so unfortunately will miss your demo. Will look out for the Sugardelites stand and hopefully get a veiner there.
Regards, Graham.
