Aww I am sorry to hear about your mum, I hope she has a speedy recovery :)

I think we all have had days like this, its very frustrating and makes you want to scream and cry at the same time haha.

On the plus side your cake looks fab :)))

Thanks for the words of encouragement – that is good ammunition, when such ’evil days" spring up!

I certainly have had bad cake days, but since I am a hobby baker AND now retired, I have the luxury of having time to fix any problem that arose. I have to say you “Cake Warriors”…. Cakers who have work a full time job and cake full time….. Simply amaze me. I just can’t imagine. Don’t believe I had or have that kind of stamina.
Very inspiring story, I agree….. Never give up…. There’s always a solution…. :o)

Hope your mom is feeling better! I am a big fan of your style (beach/sand/soft colors)… thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing…indeed is a very frustrating experience, at least you could deliver your cake….I have a really bad cake day several months ago….but I can not deliver the cake…so I have to called the customer, which by the way is a co-worker and tell him that his wife 30th birthday cake could not be deliver. I cry, as you can imagine….the first time for me….and hopefully the last one….How I fix it???…..well I gave him a free cake…Maybe I lose a customer….but I do all my best and learn from that :)

PD : I’m sorry if I wrote something wrong….my first language is Spanish :)

Mileene, you did a great job, I understood what you wrote. I’m sorry you had a bad day. Bad cake days are frustraii. All we can do is try our best to get through them. You did the right thing for your friend. It shows you have a good caring heart.

Thanks! :)

Thanks for sharing, I had a bad cake day yesterday. I decided for my nephews 21st to make him a guitar using the Wilton shaped it. Cake baked beautifully, removed it from tin and placed on cake board with a cover over it to cool. Went out for the evening and when we got home found the cake all over my kitchen floor. The kitchen window was open and I’m thinking one of my cats must have got in and enjoyed eating the cake. I was not impressed and had a lousy night thinking about having to remake cake. Today I now know I have to suck it up and get on with the job at hand.
