Gold leaf, Ruffles and Dimanties

Gold leaf, Ruffles and Dimanties

Wedding season has begun here in New Zealand and this was a cake I made this week for a lovely couple from Australia, who are both Kiwi’s.
I used Faye Cahill’s tutorial for the gold leaf, although I made the fatal mistake of breathing while I was handling it and managed to destroy about 6 leaves. So after that everytime I handled it I really did hold my breath and if I needed to breathe I did by breathing into my bicep. Ahh the lengths we go to haha. Luckily the Bride wanted the vintage look as it is certainly not perfect.
The rose ruffle I made by using Sharon Wee’s Ruffle Ruffle tutorial. So glad I had this as it helped immensely and although the ruffle took me about 3 hours to do it would have taken me a lot longer had I done it the way I thought it was done.
the topper was from Australia and provided by the Bride
The original design of this cake was by Tina’s Cupcakery.

Thanks for looking and Cakie Hugs xx

Stunning…

Creativity is God's gift to us. Using our creativity is our gift back to God. Clarky's Cakes 😎

How dramatic! Love how each tier is completely different yet totally complementary =D
