I have been really stressing about how to produce this cake. There are so many different ways to finish a naked cake and so many different ways to bake them. In the end I went for individual sponges ie. 9 in total as I worked on the theory that the shorter the length of time in the oven the thinner the cust. The edges were all brushed with syrup and the cake was heavily soaked with syrup :-)
