This cake has just been featured in Cake Central Magazine volume 4 issue 6. It was actually made a good 3 months ago, but now I am able to share it with CakesDecor as well! The theme I was given was baby shower cake based on the ‘Tale of Ginger and Pickles’ and this is what I came up with. I was a little short on time so it was only a single tier but I tried to pay special attention to the models to make them as closely as possible to resemble the illustrations in the book. The shop front was made from polystyrene covered in fondant/gumpaste and I carved a re-cess for the window and added an a piece of acetate over the top to make it look like glass. The figures where made from gumpaste then painted with confectioners glaze and food dusts/gels.
