I was finally able to to try, for the first time, a Maggie Austin inspired ombré frilled cake. I had to try for my own birthday as I was too scared to try it for someone else :-)) The final result was not too bad, I liked it. I started with the WiltonTeal Green icing color and did the ombré effect by adding white fondant. I did not have time to do a cabbage rose and I don’t have a peony cutter yet. So, a dogwood did it!!

Toni. Goreti, Daantje, thank you ladies for your birthday wishes!
Toni, I did not have sore fingers only because this is a 6" cake, so had to work hard but not too hard :-)
I liked how the colors turned out, Daantje. I was amazed how it turned out turquoise with the addition of white to the teal green.
Michal, thank you for adding this to your favorites!
