Today I share the piece with which we participated in the online collaboration organized by Australian Cake Artists & Decorators Association – ACADA; One sweet step at time <3
We are very excited because in addition to being an international contest, the subject we loved from the first moment; What would you like to change the world? What injustices would you change?
The contest has had a luxury jury; Karen Marie Portaleo, Daniel Diéguez and Calli Hopper, three large international confectioners <3
The theme is quite broad and can not cover everything that we would actually change, so we opted for a topic that we believe is truly important. Children and war
My piece represents a child playing with a shotgun painted on a cardboard. At first glance it is simple but with a deep meaning.
It is the only form of war that should exist.
It also demands the freedom of expression of each one, not to judge anyone because of their appearance, their dress, their way of being … that’s why my piece is a child, but it has pink sports shoes.
It is a subject of which we must become aware individually and be aware that we can change great things with small acts, educate our children, respect our neighbors, etc …
Respect for others and for life is very important in today’s world.
I find it very interesting to insist on it and create awareness.
Anyway, this is our grain of sand and we hope you like the piece 😍
