My inspiration comes from my land. Vesuvius, Pompeii frescoes and Opus reticulatum of Roman architecture combine to give birth to a single work consisting of several techniques. The fresco representeds, through the technique of painting with royal icing, the scene of the lashing painted inside the Villa of the Mysteries, a mansion built in the second century a. C. and buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. C. The base, on which the fresco lays, reproduces the Roman walls; anchors made out of sugar paste are made to recreate the architectural effect of Opus reticulatum. The lava effect was achieved with Artgel, a product composed by jelly and recently patented by me . The board was created with poured isomalt technique .

Per la mia creazione l’ispirazione nasce dalla mia terra. Il Vesuvio, gli affreschi di Pompei e l’Opus reticulatum delle architetture romane si fondono per dar vita ad un’unica opera composta da tecniche diverse. L’affresco rappresentato riproduce, attraverso la tecnica della pittura con ghiaccia, la scena della flagellazione dipinta all’interno della Villa dei Misteri, una residenza signorile costruita nel II secolo a. C. e sepolta con l’eruzione del Vesuvio nel 79 d. C.
La base sulla quale poggia l’affresco riproduce le mura romane , tasselli in pasta di zucchero si compongono per ricreare l’effetto architettonico dell’Opus reticulatum . L’effetto lava è stato realizzato con ArtGel , composto in gelatina da me brevettato. Il vassoio è stato creato con la tecnica dell’isomalto colato.
