I was so excited and way nervous to be invited to participate in the 2017 Carnival Cakers Collaboration. The collaboration this year was composed of 92 sugar artists from all over the world who showcased their amazing art Venetian style.

My contribution is a cookie I decorated in likeness of a mask I saw in a window display in Venice a couple of years ago and is close in color and detail of a simple mask my daughter brought home as a souvenir. I used royal icing to cover the face of the mask and the top, side and bottom pieces are royal icing transfers that I piped and attached to the face. All the intricate piping on the face and transfer pieces were also done with royal icing.
