Mother-in-law 94th birthday cake

Today is my mother-in-law’s 94th birthday. Wanted something that I could put together quickly and this is what I came up with. A little different from my normal and I am not sure how I feel about it yet. It is chocolate cake filled with cherries and mascarpone frosting and frosted in mascarpone as well.
