What fun myself and a few amazing cake artist had with the #HarryPotterOwls theme for Cake International aat the NEC recently… Special big thanks to Emma Ball of http://cakesdecor.com/Richardscakes who headed up the team for the show, all the characters are so wonderfully portrayed,

Here is my one, Malfoy Owl (2’ high), all hand modelled. I used an internal structure then sculpted with Rice Crispie Treats and Modelling Chocolate, then airbrushed.. I used Satin Ice gumpaste for the autumn leaves. Malfoy has white hair and piercing blue eyes and a pretty mean look, which I tried to portray. log ahdn sculpted too. with moss added afterwards. i added the House of Slitherin Tie too. as for the feathers…. yeagh well, each one done separately, i thought they’d never end… hahahaha … happy not to see feathers for a while!! ive added some progress shots too.
