I am absolutely in love with this cake! I think its the best one ive ever done!
It was a present for my Uncles 50th! His wife asked me to do a cake either to do with wolves or tigers. It was a no brainer! It had to be a tiger seeing as ive already done a wolf.
I came across a painting of a tiger on the internet and fell in love with the eyes on the tiger. I love emotion in animal cakes be it anger, sadness or elation. They eyes tell it all. SO i knew right away i had to turn it into a cake.
The whole tiger is cake. I built a supporting structure with threaded rods, nuts and washers and good old fashioned MDF.
It has taken me approx 24 hours to make him. The drool, water droplets and whiskers are made from isomalt. I airbrushed the base colours on the tiger and then handpainted the fine details such as stripes, eyes, nose and mouth. I also painted the reflection in the water.
Sorry ill stop rambling now haha :)
Hope you like him!
