This is my piece for the CPC Beatrix Potter Collaboration to celebrate what would have been her 150th birthday.

I’ve always loved Beatrix Potter and her illustrations and knew I wanted to get the handpainted feel of her works in the cake design somewhere. The quote on the middle tier, ‘Thank goodness my education was neglected’ is one of my favourite quotes of all time. It’s important to remember that formal qualifications aren’t the be all and end all of everything – work hard but remember that sometimes passion, excitement, creativity and enthusiasm more than makes up for a handful of GCSE’s and a half hearted attempt at A Levels. Everything on this design is hand cut from sugarpaste and hand painted with food colouring.
