A 5" triple barrelled vanilla sponge, and a dummy base. For a couple with many interests, football, netball, walking, countryside, the dog, shoes, cleaning. Cake was for a small wedding for 30 people ,and again at a party the next weekend. I made two top tiers, and reassembled it again midweek.
What a nightmare to design. I piped the football clubs logo like lace pieces, and made stripes of the clubs colours. I also used piped GK ( netball ) design to sit round the top tier. Shoes were made from gumpaste and included heels, trainers and walking boots. I lost a few days making teeny roses and straps and laces….. Countryside was the airbrushed top, done by using a collar of grease proof which I raised up and turned round for each hill level ( great tutorial on CakeyCake’s Facebook page ). The models were made from Fimo, including the dog. The bride is holding a bottle of bleach ( cleaning ).
This was a horrendous amount of work and most difficult to price. I realised quite early on that I had undercut myself quite a lot! However, they were over the moon with it, and I think I’ve got a customer for life.
Although the next one had better be really simple…..
