The weather has been a little rough and stormy of late, so it was a joy to be able to create some summery sugar flowers to bring the optimism of the warmer months to come!
The brief was a simple 6 inch cake with roses, lavender and butterflies. I decided to do a square cake for once for a more modern look, and to offset the curved lines of the sugar flower arrangement.
In keeping with the summery theme, the cake was vanilla madeira layered with vanilla buttercream and strawberry preserve. It may have been raining and windy outside yesterday, but it was summer inside the No More Tiers kitchen!
Gumpaste flowers and foliage, lavender and filler flowers made freehand.
Very pretty!
