I made this cake for my coworkers birthday. She makes THE BEST salsa, and she is always (jokingly) trying to start fights with us, so this was a perfect mashup!
The bowl is white cake covered in vanilla buttercream and fondant. I painted the bowl black to get a ceramic feel to the piece. The peppers and chips are made from fondant. For this cake, I actually made a mold of a real chip. Then fooled another coworker, who bit into it and was shocked! :)
“Salsa” is red buttercream, fondant pieces, and red corn syrup.
