In South Africa we have flowers called “fynbos” – directly translated means “fine bush”. There are a variety of fynbos flowers in our beautiful country and so many of them look amazing on cakes. I love to make sugar paste succlents and add the fynbos inbetween them – it just works so well.

This is a ombre coffee coloured cake I made for my client’s mum’s birthday today – she loves flowers, especially succulents and fynbos. I love the colour palette of this cake too – right now, think this is my favourite one for the year (well, it’s only my second one this year but it’s my favourite so far :-) )
