This is from a small group collaboration with the theme being “Art Movement”. The colours were easy to choose as I had recently purchased some rolkem gold and silver and was desperate to try them out! All the shapes are hand cut from fondant. The gold and silver ones were then painted using rolkem dusts and alcohol mix.
The flowers are grey magnolia petals dusted black with an over dusting of gold dust and then edged in edible gold paint made from the rolkem gold dust. The smaller flowers are some left over hellebore petals dusted in a mix of black and gold. I usually spend most of my time on flowers so this time it was lovely to be able to concentrate on decorating the cake itself.
