The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Excerpts from my revolving “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” story book entered into the Professional competition category at The Cake & Bake Show Manchester (UK).

The book base measured 82cm (32") by 66cm (26") and was 18cm (7") deep. The revolving ‘topper’ featuring the characters was made on a 51cm (20") drum. Aslan was made to look very friendly, how a small child may imagine him to be – warm and welcoming, ready to protect – he’s a keep :-)

Sadly, significant damage occurred at the show, fingernail gouges and handprints on the ‘leather’ book – guess that was people testing to see if it was sugarpaste, and someone even squeezed the top of the wardrobe door whilst the display was rotating. Honestly, CSI would have a field day…!

Awesome creation. So sad that people were allowed to touch it and destroy your hard work

Looks fantastic! Some people can be very inconsiderate :(

Terrific…

Creativity is God's gift to us. Using our creativity is our gift back to God. Clarky's Cakes 😎

Fantastic! You would think people would be more considerate, maybe they should have some don’t touch the cakes signs! :-)

sugar and art - perfect combination! sugarmagic22@gmail.com

Thanks everyone :-)

Christine, there were plenty of “Please Do Not Touch” signs – in fact, one either side of it LOL. On the final day I went back to collect and three ladies were stood next to it, two of them with their hands on (!) laughing saying maybe they shouldn’t as there was a sign……I had to quickly walk away!!!

Awesome, such a shame that people felt that it was ok to touch

Lyn (Nanna Lyn Cakes) xx

Great work people can be so thoughtless. I have only ever entered one competition at the Big Cake Show in Devon and I witnessed adults poking my cake and a large ammonite I had as part of my display got pinched. I expected better of cake folk. :/

Thanks Elizabeth x So true, whilst I was packing up a random person came up and asked if she could take one of the cakes! It had separators and loads of bling on it! Of course I said NO! :-D
