So I finally entered my first competition! What a fabulous weekend I had with some truly sweet friends!

My wedding cake entry was painted royal icing but I had a terrible time with the damp weather and encountered problems I’d never had before with this technique!

I loved the poppy on top (although the judge felt it was too large!) but I was pleased with it and thrilled to be awarded silver.
