Firstly, sorry I’ve not posted for a while, school hols and kids are not a great combination and I have a back log of posting to do, but I won’t bore you with them all in one go.
Hope you can see this tea party cake. Pics weren’t great sadly.
This cake was made for twin girls celebrating their 18th birthday. One twin had bought it (with some help from mummy and daddy) for her other twin, but they had very different ideas about what they wanted for an 18th birthday cake. It was also a surprise.
The twin who ordered it wanted colour, but the other was very specific about the type of cake she would want – plain and white!
We decided to go with the cake being predominantly white with colourful elements. The bottom tier was supposed to represent a vintage tea box, then presents and a tea pot. There’s two little tea bag tags hanging from the tea pot with the girls initials on them, which happen to be E and A, which are actually also on the bottom tier as well in the word Tea! Just luck that I was able to do this with their initials as well!
It did get a little stressful at times trying to get the brief right for both girls, but apparently the surprised twin loved the cake, as did the twin who ordered it.
This cake would also make a fabulous wedding cake.
Hope you like it to. Sam
